NEEDLES

Used needles must be placed in NEEDLE BINS, placing needles in the rubbish bins places CTC staff at risk of injury and it is illegal for us to dispose of needles via our normal rubbish disposal process.  This is very important and must be communicated to your staff.

EARLY CLOSING OF TRACKS ON INDUSTRY TRIAL DAYS

Please remember that tracks will need to close promptly at 9.00 am on the morning of industry trials.  Last horses to enter track at 8.45am

 TRAINING COMMENCES AT 4.00am

We are aware that horses are entering the trotting ring as early as 3.40am and we would like to request that riding does not commence until 4.00am.  This is important for the following reasons:

  • Track Supervisors are out checking tracks and preparing for training to start.
  • Riders are not being supervised prior to 4 am,
  • the Medic is not in attendance until 4am, and;
  •   in the event of an incident no support would be available.

HELMETS, BODY PROTECTORS AND HIGH VISIBILITY VESTS

Reminder to all trainers and riders that all mounted persons must wear the above equipment that is of the standard required in the Rules of Racing. This week eleven people were found by the Steward to not be wearing their body protectors and they will now have to attend an inquiry.

SMOKING

From 1 March 2006 it has been an offence under WorkSafe to smoke in most enclosed workplaces including TOILETS. We have received complaints regarding persons smoking in the toilets and the amount of cigarette butts and damage to CTC property that has occurred as a result of smoking.

Please remind all staff NOT TO SMOKE IN THE TOILETS.

CONDITIONS FOR USE OF EQUINE POOL

HORSES MUST NOT ENTER THE POOL IF THEY HAVE VETERINARY PRODUCTS, SAND, DIRT etc on THEM.

- Swell down and other similar products impact the water quality and can cause breakdowns in equipment

- All sand/dirt should also be removed prior to entering pool

- Persons refusing to comply may be held responsible for damages caused

- Please help keep your pool operating and in the best possible condition
